Message to the Black Creatives : Killa Cam vs. Omar Gooding: King Jaffajo Turned King Petty and Wild And Crazy Kid Sweet Peas Not Jr. BarSmith #TalkinOuttaTurn

🎬 Killa Cam vs. Omar Gooding: King Jaffajo Turned King Petty VS SweetPea

Yo, let’s talk about how Cam’ron went from pink mink rockin’ Harlem legend to full-blown mogul with a petty streak sharper than his punchlines. This ain’t just rap beef — this is actor beefNetflix deals, and Tubi hustle all rolled into one.

So a while back, Cam and Mase was choppin’ it up on their show It Is What It Is — shoutout to them for buildin’ that platform from the ground up. Cam brought up a real convo: how a lotta Black actors and actresses ain’t gettin’ the gigs they deserve. He name-dropped folks like Ving Rhames and Omar Gooding (accidentally called him “Jr.” — mixin’ him up with Cuba Gooding Jr., his brother who been in some messy Me Too headlines).

Cam was speakin’ facts tho. He said we got mad talent in our community, but Hollywood don’t be givin’ us the shine unless we do it ourselves. He mentioned how he cast Omar, Ving, Macy Gray, and Antwon Tanner (aka the dude who always play the young baller in hood flicks) in his Netflix joint Percentage. Real talk, Cam was sayin’ we gotta bet on ourselves — get that Tubi money, that YouTube ad bag, that Amazon Prime hustle. Build like Issa Rae did. Create, upload, show the numbers, then demand the check.

But Omar ain’t take it smooth(He took it personal. Like, Baby Boy Jody-gettin’-choked-out-by-Melvin personal). He felt disrespected by the “Jr.” slip and the comment about actors sittin’ around waitin’ for scripts. So what he do? Drop a diss track. Yup. Omar Gooding out here rappin’ like it’s Baby Boy all over again ( I ain’t waitin’ for no scripts — I’m writin’ my own bars!”). He even went on IG with a rant, sayin’ he ain’t Cuba, he his own man, and he ain’t gon’ let nobody play him.

Cam responded cool at first — apologized for the mix-up, said he was just tryna spotlight talent. But then Omar dropped another diss, and Cam flipped the petty switch. He reminded folks HE was the one who gave Omar a role in Percentage, outta his Netflix deal with Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere. Then Cam started clownin’ — talkin’ bout Omar doin’ comedy gigs at restaurants and birthday parties then promoted his upcoming movie Is It A Crime. 💀

Omar clapped back again, talkin’ bout Cam wearin’ pink and not respondin’ with bars. Said it’s all love, but he don’t play disrespect. So Cam, bein’ the diabolical genius he is, booked Omar for a fake movie gig just to troll him. Paid him a lil somethin’, gave him a free trip, and basically son’d him. Omar laughed it off, said “Thanks for the bag, but I’m still droppin this diss.” And he did. Album on the way too.

Now let’s be real — Omar Gooding been dope since Wild & Crazy Kids and Smart Guy. He went from Nickelodeon sidekick to Cali gangsta in Baby Boy, and he held it down. And Cam? Cam been ahead of his time he foreshadow he got computers putin. And he was talkin’ ‘bout “computers putin” before AI was even a thing. He’s a top 10 underrated rapper, and now he out here makin’ moves in media, fashion, investing and film.

This whole beef lowkey funny, but it also got a message: Black creatives gotta build their own platforms. Don’t wait for Hollywood. Don’t wait for Netflix. Get on Tubi, YouTube, Kick, Rumble — all the spots we used to watch bootleg hood classics at the barbershop. Now they payin’ real money.

Dame Dash been preachin’ this. Kat Williams built his own sets. Monique coulda flipped her own special and demanded the bag but 50 cent the script and got her back active. We got the talent, we just need to bet on ourselves.

So salute to Cam for keepin’ it real and petty. Salute to Omar for standin’ on his name. And salute to all the Black creatives out here grindin’. Let’s get this money, build these platforms, and the stream streamin till the numbers are boost boostin. I'm Talkin Outta Turn. Hope this getting both of there number up. Shoutout Cam'ron on the new show on Revolt TV.

“So basically In a nutshell — pause — what Cam was really sayin’ is, if we got the money and the talent, we need to stop waitin’ and start puttin’ it up and bet on ourselves.”

Outakes

We gotta start buildin’ our own lanes — just like Money & Violence did. Upload it to YouTube, run up the views, get that ad money, and then hit the networks with the numbers like, “Run me my deal.” That’s how Issa Rae did it — she created her own wave and made Hollywood come to her. Honestly, Monique coulda done the same. She should’ve bodied her own comedy set, dropped it online, let it go viral, and then told Netflix, “I want the big bag.” But shoutout to 50 Cent for givin’ her a script and puttin’ her back in business.

Now, we do gotta chill a lil bit on givin’ Lala every single role — love her, but she in everything! 😂 Still, it’s all love. We supportin’ each other, and that’s what matters.
